We would like to inform you about conference structure, online streaming and video platform.
Most important: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, FSPM2020 goes virtual. We will start with a virtual welcome reception on Sunday, 4th of October from 18:00 to 20:00 CET. On Monday, 5th of October, the online opening session starts at 14:30 CET. You find this information and all other scheduled contributions in the preliminary timetable here on our website.
In FSPM2020, we will have four different categories of contributions: Keynote talks, orals, posters and software presentations. Keynote talks, software presentations, as well as opening and closing sessions will be presented in online live streams, whereas orals and posters will be made available on demand in asynchronous streaming only. We tried to adapt time slots each day for balancing favourable time slots around the globe and yet still allow for a lively exchange of questions and answers over our platform.
We are very happy that Tancrede Almeras, Brian Bailey, Dan Chitwood, Evelyne Costes, Jochem Evers, Marie Launay, Andrea Schnepf and Kathy Steppe agreed to present keynote talks in online life stream. There will be two keynote talks per day, each 30 min with 20 min for online discussion. These talks will be recorded and then made available for all participants (see below).
We will use the StudIP platform of Leibniz University Hannover as conference tool. For all live-presentations, we will use BigBlueButton meetings via StudIP. Please do not worry, this sounds more complex than it actually is. No app installations are needed! In order to connect to our live stream and to have access to all on-demand contributions you just have to follow the instructions in the pdf file available below this text. In brief, as a conference participant, you will be registered at StudIP and you will receive a user name and a password for login by email. You may test your access to StudIP at the virtual welcome reception or on Monday the 5th October, where the meeting room will be open starting from 12:30 CET on.
Presenters of orals and posters will find instructions for their video upload on Indico also in the pdf file available below this text. Please upload orals and poster videos (mp4, max. 300 MB, best 16:9) before 22th of September. All uploaded videos will be available on demand for streaming on StudIP from 1st -31th October.
The Book of Abstracts will be available as pdf-file on our FSPM2020 website by 1st of October.
All the best and stay healthy!
